Onesie Fun

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am now the proud aunt of a beautiful little girl named Adriana.  We're flying to Kansas to visit her in a few weeks, so I've been working on baby gifts.  My first project is onesies.  I bought a blank pack of white onesies and I'm playing around with different decorating techniques.  Here are my first two.

For my first one, I used a pack of fabric pastels.  They were pretty cheap at the craft store so I figured they were worth a try.  You just draw on your design and then iron it to set it.
I drew out a bird using a black sharpie and then colored it in with the pastels.  These were a little hard to work with; it may have been the fabric of the onesies.  I was hoping for a smoother look.

My next project involved fabric iron-ons.  I used Heat'n Bond and a pink patterned fat quarter.

I ironed a small square of pink fabric onto the adhesive.  I then cut out the letter A (for Adriana) and ironed that onto the onesie.

That's it for now.  I tried making a little skirt to match the pink A, but my skills were not quite up to it and my first attempt is not so pretty.  I'll definitely keep trying though and show you as I make more.
