You've seen the
pictures of my crafting space. I spread out all over the living room and make a big mess. This is all well and good, but quite difficult when company is coming over or we want to eat dinner at the living room table (which we do every night).
I didn't want to move my work area, but I also need a better way. My sweet husband had a solution. He built me a wooden work desk that could be carried in and out of the living room. That way, I could keep my work out, but also move it when necessary. Here are some action shots of the building process.

Sawing on the living room floor. Perhaps a workshop is next? |
And now, some photos of the finished product. I have been VERY pleased with it so far. It consists of a flat piece of wood with another piece of wood along the back and two sides. This will help keep all of my supplies in place. There is also an extra bar towards the back which holds my ribbon boxes snuggly in place.

Desk loaded with all my stuff-Notice the ribbon storage along the back. |

Desk moved into the other room, sitting on the guest bed. Not a permanent storage location :) |
Woohoo! It's definately made a difference in convenience. =)
ReplyDeleteVery nice and personal just for you. So great to have a handy man.
ReplyDeleteWhat a guy! How nice to have a husband who understands your interests and passions. That looks like a great, portable work environment.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so great! I love how portable it is. How sweet of him to make that for you :)
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea! I could definitely use that considering my regular craft-explosions in our living space. :)
