A Bird In The Hand Is Worth One In The Bag?

Today I would like to enlist your help.  Yes reader, YOU!  When I started listing etsy items, I wanted to come up with some really great packaging to send items in.  I decided to use these little boxes and add a paper band with a little bird tag.  Since each item is inspired by a bird, the little tag matches the item.  Get it?

But, my fickle-crafty nature has already come up with a new idea.  Small little bags.  I thought it would be fun to sew little drawstring bags in coordinating fabric to match the item.  Here's my first:

And if that wasn't enough, I enlisted the help of shrinky-dink again and created little tags to match.  These can be removed and used as keychains, zipper-pulls, etc.

But, I would like your opinion.  What do you think?  Which would you rather receive in the mail?  Any suggestions on improvements/changes?

  2. I think the box is just simply adorable! But the bags might be more reusable? I would go with whichever is easier and less expensive. Any buyer would be happy to receive either :)

  3. They are both just beautiful! The bag is like a free gift since it can be reused.

  4. They both look great, but I especially love the drawstring bag. And the little tag is an extra gift besides! What a treat.

  5. Oh dear, what a decision! I love the look of the brown kraft box (and I dearly love cardinals), but the drawstring bag is a gift in itself and the little tag is lagniappe! I guess I'd have to go with the bag...
Actually, that's what I plan to do with some of my crochet items that have several pieces -- if I ever get back to crocheting again!!

  7. I really liked the box! But then you showed the bag. I think it's that fabric--it's so lovely. Perhaps you could sell the bags by themselves. Either one--box or bag--would be lovely to receive.

  8. I like them both too. The bag is darling and you could even make them out of bird fabric. The charm is a cute addition.

  9. I love the drawstring bags! They're adorable and can be reused, I know I hold onto stuff like that to keep things in. Also the little shrinky-dink key-chain idea is an awesome little freebie that is individualized to each item. Very cool!

  10. I love both, but I agree with the thought that the drawstring bag could be used in other ways and the key-chain is a wonderful bonus. Both packaging ideas are awesome!
