Trimmings Projects

Lately, I've been working on some new jewelry projects using a packet of fabric trimmings from Umbrella Prints.  They are having a competition to see what projects people can make from one packet of trimmings.  I enjoy a good craft challenge and an excuse to buy fabric, so I bought a pack.

My trimmings packet.  Isn't it beautiful?

Although I loved the fabric, I was a little worried at first because the prints are bigger than I am used to.  But, it's actually been really fun to play around and see fabric in a different way.  Here are some of the pieces I have made.

This was made from one of the fun heart prints.

I combined several different fabrics in this one to make a fun geometric piece.

This was made using one brown patterned fabric and a stripe of the red fabric.

I still have 2/3 of my fabric left and a few more projects in mind.  I used the sewing machine to start one today and am also going to try an experimental technique; no idea whether it will work or not.  Intrigued?   You should be.
