More Shop Changes In The Works

Does anyone else feel like the first year of your business is filled with constant change and learning?  Oh wait, that's just life in general.

I have been thinking a lot about my shop and talking with some awesome crafty people and have decided to spend more time focusing on my decorative painting pieces.  Which means less time on jewelry.

This change will most likely involved splitting my etsy shop into two separate shops (cue vision of mad scientist laughing).  One shop will be painted objects and one will be jewelry.  Nothing is final yet, but look for these changes in the near future.

  1. I've gotten so many comments from people liking sale items with destash. Don't know about such varied mediums though. That's one of the reasons I stopped selling jewelry out of my shop. And I wanted to spend more time with paper {:-D

  2. I am one of the people that appreciate it when different mediums are put into separate shops especially if it becomes more difficult to search within a shop...the limited way we can do sections does not help.

Good luck and I look forward to seeing what you do!!

  4. I'm wondering which you like to do more, painting or jewelry? I've sold destash items in my shop, along with the crazy variety of things I like to make. If you can keep it all organized, that's great that you have a goal in mind.

  6. I too think that your painted work is great, and totally agree about jewelry. Had to make an attitude change, now making jewelry just because I like to. Have a 2nd shop in the works myself and hope to launch it next month!

    Best wishes Jenny

  7. Oh yes, the first year was definitely one big learning curve. Part of the second year, too. Good luck with the second shop!

  8. Good luck working this out, Jenny! I do wish etsy had a way of organizing sections within a shop, rather than simply showing items in the order of listing. You could try offering both types of items in the same shop for a while to see how it works.
(Also, what sells online for me is a bit different from what sells in person.)
